Ball Float Steam Traps

Rotating Plug Ball Float Trap
The Float Trap immediate condensate discharge out of steam systems is absolutely necessary to retain the maximum possible capacity of the heat exchanger and to minimize the danger of corrosion, water-hammering & temperature fluctuations in the process.

It is the task of Float trap controlled steam traps to discharge condensate out of steam consuming equipment but to keep the steam inside.

Working Principle
VOLFRAM float controlled steam traps operate based VOLFRAM Float trap controlled steam traps operate based on the rotary slide valve principle. These float controlled steam traps since the density difference between vapor and condensate.

As the incoming condensate reaches the Float trap body the condensate level rises so does the Float trap. Due to the movement of the float, the rotary valve is able to turn and open the outlet port and the condensate is discharged. Now as the level of condensate falls so does the Float trap and the rotary valve turns and closes the outlet port. With this type of operation, the condensate is discharged continuously.

VOLFRAM controlled steam traps operate effectively even at small differential pressures. Their operation is not affected by pressure fluctuations. These traps are provided with features such as air vent and a steam/gas barrier in the form of immersion tube. The thermostatic air vent offers the added benefit of significantly increasing condensate capacity on cold start-up.
